Description

Dr. GenTLE^® Precipitation Carrier is a carrier prepared for ethanol precipitation of nucleic acids. The carrier achieves high recovery from the solution at low concentration compared with glycogen, generally used as a carrier. DNA and RNA can be recoverd from very diluted solution (5 ng/ml).
It is not necessary to incubate at low temperature at ethanol precipitation, and centrifugation can be followed immediately after adding ethanol.
The white pellet can be visible by ethanol precipitation. Since small amount of DNA/RNA is easily located, washing step can be performed with safety and prevent losses. Dr. GenTLE^® Precipitation Carrier does not interfere with molecular biology precedures including PCR, restriction digestion, reverse transcription, ligaton, sequencing, transformation of E.coli or fluorescent sequencing.

Note

• After adding Dr. GenTLE^® Precipitation Carrier, it is not necessary to incubate at low temperature . Since low temperature incubation may decrease recovery efficiency, centrifuge immediately after adding the carrier.
• When performing ethanol precipitation again to the same solution, do not add the carrier again. The viscosity of the solution may increase at the time of dissolution and the pellet become difficult to dissolve.
• When the concentration of sample is high (above 0.3 µg/ µl ) it is not recommend to use this product, since the recovery efficiency may decrease.
• When the concentration of sample is less than 10pg/ µl , the recovery efficiency may decrease.
• This carrier can be also used for isopropanol precipitation. However, it may be difficult to check the pellet since it becomes translucent compared with ethanol precipitation.
