The stock solution (2.0 mg/ml) with Reconstitution Solution should be stored in aliquots at -20°C for 1 year, or at 4°C for 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze -thaw cycles. The diluted antibody should not be stored.

Reconstitution

Dissolve the lyophilized antibody in 50 µl of Reconstitution Solution. (final concentration 2.0 mg/ml)

Specificity

• This antibody recognizes amino acid sequence of mouse Insulin C (71-84)

Cross reactivity

This antibody does not react with human Insulin C.

Applications

• This antibody can be used for immunohistochemical detection of insulin C on paraffin embedded tissue and frozen tissue sections. (5-10 µg/ml)
• This antibody can be used for immunocytochemistry. (5-10 µg/ml)

Animal Insulin C sequence

Insulin

First, Insulin is produced as preproinsulin including signal peptide.
Once singal peptide is cut, it takes proinsulin structure comprised of B chain-RR-C chain (C domain)-KR-A chain. Then, after C chain is cut out, it becomes completely active structure comprised of B chain and A chain.
This antibody is prepared against the amino acid part of C chain (Insulin C) as antigen, and is used for the detection of newly produced proinsulin including C chain.
